Famous jews during World War II There were many Jews turned famous Jews because of their heroic feats and stories during World War II. Here are a few of them. Anne Frank: Anne Frank was a German. One of the most famous Jewish victims of the Holocaust, she gained fame after her dad, Otto Frank published her diary, “The diary of a young girl” on June 25, 1947 the diary was originally in dutch but has been translated into many different languages since then. Anne got her diary in 1942 for her 13th birthday and it was that year that they went into hiding in Amsterdam, they were stuck inside a house for 3 years until they were found in 1945 and Anne and the rest of her family got taken to concentration camps. Born: June 12, 1929, Frankfurt, Germany Died: 1945, Lower Saxony, Germany Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a priest and he was also a theologian and a rebellious anti-Nazi and an important founding member of the Confessing Church. He was killed by the jews in the Flossenbürg. The country with the most jews was Poland and almost 3,000,000 jews were killed during the holocaust in Poland alone.
